How to Get a Duplicate License in Nevada
REAL IDs and License Replacements
If you plan to upgrade to a NV REAL ID upon replacement, you'll need to do so in person and follow the steps for a first-time REAL ID application. Jump over to our license guide for help.
The first thing you may want to do after losing your Nevada driver's license is to report it to the NV DMV and to local authorities. This can help prevent identity theft and other related fraudulent activities.
You can request a duplicate Nevada driver's license:
- Online through the NV DMV website.
- In person at a:
- DMV kiosk.
OR - DMV office.
- DMV kiosk.

Online License Replacement
You can get a replacement Nevada driver's license online IF:
- You do NOT have a commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Your license is valid (has not been suspended or revoked).
- Your address hasn't changed.
- Your license will not expire in the next 60 days.
To renew and replace your driver's license online, use the Nevada DMV Online Request for Duplicate. You will need:
- Your date of birth.
- Your Social Security number (SSN).
- A credit card to pay the license fee of $18.25.
You will receive your duplicate Nevada driver's license by mail.
In-Person License Replacement
You can request a replacement driver's license in person at a Nevada DMV kiosk or DMV office.
DMV kiosks are found in a variety of public locations in Nevada. To use a kiosk, you must have:
- A non-commercial driver's license.
- It must not expire in the next 60 days.
- The same address you had when your license was last renewed or issued.
- Cash, a check, or a debit or credit card to pay the $18.25 license fee, plus a $1 processing fee.
If you are ineligible for online or kiosk orders, you can go in person to a Nevada DMV office to order a duplicate driver's license. You will need to provide your SSN and date of birth, as well as payment for the $18.25 fee.
Getting your Real ID license can be done at any time and MUST be done in person, so if you decide that you would like to get yours, you must bring proof of your:
- Identity.
- Name change (if you have ever changed your name).
- Social Security number.
- Nevada residential address (multiple documents).
Marriage License Replacement Nevada
You will also need to bring either an Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card.
The Nevada DMV website has a full list of acceptable documents to bring in for each requirement—just make sure that each document is a valid original and NOT a photocopy.
Replace a License While Out of State

Fees to Replace a NV Driver's License
Replacement driver's licenses in Nevada will cost you $18.25.
If you order a replacement online, you will also need to pay an additional $1 processing fee.

- Discover card.
Online payments must be made by VISA, MasterCard, or Discover card only.
Fee Waiver for Homeless
You may qualify once for a fee waiver for a duplicate driver's license if you're homeless. Just fill out the Declaration of Homeless Status (Form DMV-128) and bring it to a full-service Nevada DMV office.
